I'm throwing out this ONE word now
There are many words I no longer use including...
stress
anxious
worry
can't
try
busy
should
My vocabulary and life are lighter without them.
There's a word I noticed that I still use, however.
Hard.
As in: It's hard to grow my business.
You, me, and everyone we'll encounter today all operate the same:
We all feel our thinking and find supporting evidence to back up our thoughts (confirmation bias.) And guess what? The odds aren't stacked in our favor -- 80% of our daily thoughts are negative and repetitive.
So why on earth am I running my own interference with my business?
Why am I choosing to make it hard?
It's hogwash I tell you and I've decided I'm done thinking about it this way because it's...hard. Energy draining. And self-fulfilling.
What now? It's time to think up a more useful thought and put it on repeat moving forward.
I like the idea of:
When I work my process and take the important actions I see results.
Saying this makes me feel lighter and empowered. It reminds me that I need to do the work and when I do I'm rewarded. Right on.
What thought do you have on repeat that feels like a fact? If you're tired of the repetitive results this thought is producing for you practice this:
Start catching yourself in the moment
Take a powerful pause and ask yourself:
How do I feel when I think this?
What evidence am I finding in my life based on this thought?
Would I rather feel differently?
If so...what's a more useful and productive thought I can think of instead?
How do I feel when I think this new thought?
The key: Make it a thought that feels at least neutral to a bit better than the one you're currently thinking. This isn't just 'positive thinking' B.S.
