A cool timeline activity
I haven't introduced myself in a long minute and thought it would be fun to recount my past years. Here are my timeline cliff notes from 2009 to now.
I started as a Personal Trainer in 2009 but called myself Fitness Coach because it was always more important to me to coach people on how to sustain their healthy habits than it was just giving them workouts to follow.
My life took a nosedive around 2011 (handling divorce, kids, death, and business growth all at the same time without good life skills) and I’m grateful for the crash because it ended up being my awakening.
I craved knowledge during this awakening. I’d hole up in the house every weekend that I didn’t have the kids to learn and experiment with life tools and skills. I’m proud of that time because it turned me into the real, relatable, and effective coach I am today.
MindBodySWEAT was born in 2015 — a hybrid small group class for women that took place in my garage gym that combined both physical fitness workouts and life up-leveling tools. Women gained both mind and body muscles while developing lasting friendships.
I took a version of MindBodySWEAT on the road (called it FIT Business) to locally-owned businesses and I’m proud of the lasting, positive lifestyle shifts I created for employees who needed it the most.
COVID hit and I switched to doing 1:1 Life Coaching and MindBodySWEAT online.
We moved to Dunlap, TN in November of 2021 and I was the General Contractor for our house build. We did the whole live-in-a-camper thing and did much of the finish work ourselves. During this time I put coaching on the back burner and only took referrals.
And this brings me to now. And what I realized, to my full circle.
Working out was sporadic between COVID, the house build, and living remotely so in December 2023 I brought back my garage gym and I’m loving it! And I was glad to learn other women up here want a local option without leaving the mountain.
I am partnering with businesses again and offering FIT Business, speaking, and workshop options.
I modified the name of my small group coaching class to MindBodyNOW because it more accurately depicts the three most powerful tools I teach women: 1) How to manage your mind, 2) How to have a great relationship with your intuitive body, and 3) How to be fully present and NOW for all things.
Throughout these fifteen years, I have written Motivation Monday every week without missing a Monday or losing motivation for about 14 1/2 of these years. The only time I took off was during the house build.
This timeline was cool to do because we tend to be so focused on life that we often don’t look back to see our patterns, how far we’ve come, what we’re proud of, and what needs up-leveling.
I encourage you to write out your timeline this week and go into detail (something I spared you from ;)). What do you notice? What makes you proud? Where are you stuck in the same loop?
