Making peace with food and fitness
What value do you put on your peace of mind?
For many? Peace of mind is a struggle. An after-thought, if it gets a thought at all. Something they think only people with unicorn-like genes can achieve.
Yet peace of mind is free and as ample as sunlight. You just need to know how to access it.
I used to struggle and argue against this concept for years! Roll my eyes. Think it was whoo-whoo. And that I wasn't gifted with the ability to have it in my life.
My body (namely, what I thought about it) was the biggest area that kept me from peace of mind.
What I was consuming, how much, and if it was 'bad' or 'good' took up hours of my time and energy each week.
I'd exercise a lot of control and willpower to stick with eating good and healthy and then beat myself up when I'd fall off the wagon and not eat just one but four Krispy Kreme chocolate glazed cream-filled donuts.
And then I'd punish myself with extra hard workouts at the gym so I wouldn't gain weight. But usually? I'd avoid the gym and work out at home because I was embarrassed about how fat I looked. Mind you, this was all in my head.
The types of thoughts running my show were those of perfectionism, control, hiding, judging, and comparison because I thought those were the motivators people like me (the unfortunate ones born sans 'easy' genes) needed to achieve success.
So it's no wonder why peace of mind was nowhere in sight but anxiety? I had enough of that to power up a substation. And what's crazy? Achieving with anxiety was so normal I didn't even realize it was present and keeping me pumped with cortisol (a stress hormone that keeps you fluffy). That's sad.
Guess what was running interference and keeping me from peace the whole time -- my unmanaged mind.
Peace of mind is the delicious by-product you get when you learn how to have a healthy relationship with your mind and body.
And when there's peace? There's ease when it comes to consuming food and alcohol, moving your body, and losing weight (if that's important).
And with peace and ease, there's confidence, freedom, and....
TIME! I have at least ten more hours of productive time each week because I'm not using it to think about my body, food, and exercise ad nauseam.
If you relate to spending a lot of your time thinking about your body, what you're not doing enough of for it, and judging your food and exercise habits, and you’re ready for more peace of mind and TIME, the next MindBodyNOW small group coaching class is launching in July, 2024.
I'm looking for 3-5 women who are over it! You're tired of the internal beat-downs, the judgment, and body shaming. You're ready to put in the work to apply new tools in your life with support, accountability, and lasting results.
Email me and I will send you a short list of questions to help you determine if this class may be a good fit for you. If you think it is? You can fill out the application section and send it back. No pressure.
